If you’re an avid reader on Her Happy Home, then it’s probably become pretty clear that I’m a total organization nerd. Meal planning, toy organization, and making teacher gifts a month before school starts are just the tip of the iceberg.
I guess that can be seen as an annoying quality, but that’s just the way I roll. Clutter and messiness makes me feel overwhelmed and stressed. But when things are tidy and organized, I feel like I can breath and relax.
I’m sure my husband brags about how annoying much fun it is to live with me.
Besides that, I like for things to be cute….yes, cute. Cuteness just makes everything more fun! You’ll see what I mean in a about 5 seconds.
So for the organized, tidy, cutesy nerds out there…this post is for you!
The Happy Planner
Oh goodness…this planner so lives up to it’s name.
I’ve kept a planner since college. During school I would use it to organize my assignments, reports, homework, etc. so I didn’t end up forgetting about a project until the last minute. And of course I still needed a planner when I started teaching. Between staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, in-service days, and grade-level meetings…how else does one stay organized?
For all you techies out there….I’m well aware of the advances in technology and that of digital schedules and calendars. Unfortunately that just doesn’t do it for me: I need something tangible.
Plus, I really just like having a planner. I like shopping for them, writing in them, looking back at previous months like a journal. Like I said…nerd.
The Happy Planner is seriously awesome! Think: planning meets scrapbooking. It comes in 3 different sizes, includes a yearly and weekly planner, and a cute little “currently” section at the beginning of each month.
But the best part is the accessories…eek!!! Yes, I said accessories. The Happy Planner has tons of stickers, stamps, washi tape, inserts etc. you can buy to go with your planner. I can’t even get into everything that they have, so I’ll just share mine.
- I got the medium sized planner, and I purchased an extra sticker book and a “checklist” stamp.
- This sticker book is super cute because it has lots of “reminder” stickers you can add to your planner, as well as holiday, play date, date night, dinner, pay day, etc. stickers.
- The “checklist” stamp is awesome because I am such a list person. I have to write everything down. In fact, if it’s not written down…it doesn’t happen. Plus, I love crossing things off my list. It makes me feel really accomplished, even if I really get much done that day. I mean, did I write down yesterday that I needed to wash my hair? Maybe… Did I feel really proud that I completed at least one thing on my list…yes.
For all my teacher friends out there, they do make Happy Planners specifically for teachers! And if you’re a student, they have some that are tailor made for you too. It’s getting close to back to school time, so you might be able to find some good deals on these. I got mine at Hobby Lobby, but I’ve also seen them at Michael’s and Amazon carries them. You can also buy them in “kits” for a little extra cost, but it comes with the planner, stickers, pens, washi tape…everything you need.
So…if you thrive on planning, and you’re kind of weird and like to make everyday tasks look cute, seriously check these out!
FunBites
All the heart eyes for this little gadget!
Lincoln starts Mother’s Day Out in just a few short weeks, so I’ve been all too excited to be shopping for his first “school” experience.
One thing I’m a little nervous about is lunchtime. I feel like the fear of my child choking is massively higher than the normal parent. Seriously. I don’t know if it’s the fact that he shoves every morsel of food on his plate into his mouth at the same time, or the fact the he used to like to “fake choke” to watch Chase and I freak out. Or it could be that there were a couple of instances where we weren’t sure if he was choking (or just gagging), and freaked out in .08 seconds and started frantically pounding on his back. Is this just first time parent freak out stuff? Goodness I hope so.
Anyway, it goes without saying that I’m a little on edge about him eating lunch at MDO. Although I know he will be in great hands with his 2 sweet teachers, I also know there will be 9 other little kiddos that will need their attention and assistance during lunchtime. Ugh, I just have images of him choking and nobody realizing it. Again, is this normal parent stuff??
Enter…FunBites! Is this not the cutest thing you’ve ever seen??
You basically just make your sandwich like normal, and this little bad boy fits right in the middle making bite sized squares when you push down. Genius!
I usually quarter Linc’s sandwiches at home, but again…the whole quarter goes into the mouth at once. Sometimes two quarters. Ugh.
I know he could essentially stuff all the little squares in his mouth at the same time, but I still feel a little more at ease with the tiny bites.
They’re already a huge hit here, and honestly….doesn’t cute “minis” make everything more appealing?
Have an awesome Friday and a fabulous weekend!
