“Stress free feeding?” “How is feeding a baby even stressful, Amanda?” Read below to find out why feeding my babe solids has got me stressed and how Nuby’s EZ Squee-z saves the day!
Now that Goldie has started solids, I’m back in the baby food business. Which, honestly, isn’t as much fun as I remember it being with Lincoln.
Am I allowed to say that?
Don’t get me wrong, the faces she makes after trying something new are H I L A R I O U S!
But I forgot how long it takes to spoon feed babies. She hasn’t quite synced up with our eating schedule, so she never wants to eat when the rest of us are eating. It never fails: it’s always time to feed her when something else pressing is happening…dinner burning in the skillet, Lincoln announcing that he needs his butt wiped, cleaning up broken glass (don’t ask)…you name it.
It’s times like these that I bust out Nuby’s EZ Squee-z. Y’all, this thing has been such a lifesaver when it feels like chaos surrounds me. The silicone base makes it easy to fill with baby food and easy for Goldie to grip. When she squeezes the bottom, the pureed baby food comes out through small holes in the soft silicone bulb at the top…which is the part that she’s *usually* putting in her mouth.
It has been a game changer. If I can’t actually sit down and spoon feed her at that very moment, I’ll just throw some baby food in there, give it to Goldie, and watch her go to town on it. (And for under $6, it’s an all-around win.) I probably should be saying something like ”I love that she’s developing the skills to self-feed”. But really, I love that she can fend for herself for 10 minutes while I’m prepping dinner or jotting down our grocery list. And it makes my life just a little bit easier…no shame.
