Learn how to make a Pom Pom garland the easy way!
Does the idea of making pom-poms overwhelm you? Check out my secret weapon for making the EASIEST pom-poms and a DIY Pom-Pom Garland.
Pom-Pom decor has exploded recently, and I’M👏HERE👏FOR👏IT. Over the last few weeks I’ve been working on decorating the kids’ playroom, and after going back and forth between gallery wall/no gallery wall, I settled for just a few simple prints….but something was still missing.
And then, “Oh heyyyyy Mr. Pom-Pom garland at Hobby Lobby.”
I knew that’s exactly what I needed to add to the playroom to tie it all together (but not for that price…sorry Hob Lob), so I set off to make my own DIY pom-pom garland with my own color choices.
It’s so easy! Let me show you how!

DIY Pom Pom Garland Supplies
Now I’ve never made a pom-pom in my LIFE. And all those tutorials on Pinterest about wrapping yarn around a fork or some other household item weren’t giving me a ton of confidence. And then I stumbled upon this bad boy:
1.You guys….it’s a pom-pom maker!!! They come in 4 different sizes (I used the medium one), they come in a 2-pack, AND it’s less than $7 (available on Amazon or your local craft store)!!! Plus, it’s as easy and amazing as it sounds! And it’s fun….and kind of addicting.
Reeeeeeeeeeally excited about pom-poms here.
2. The only other supply you really need is yarn. I bought each color of yarn that I needed ($2 each at Michaels!) and went after it!
They even carry yarn at Dollar Tree now.
Each pom-pom just took a few minutes to make with the pom-pom maker so I would make a few here and there throughout the day. I’m thrilled with the result and I’m already plotting all the other places in my home that need pom-poms!
How to Make a Pom Pom Garland
I tried doing a real-life video of me showing you guys how to use the pom-pom maker…but it did not go well. LOL! It was awkward and terrible lighting, and of COURSE the one pom-pom I’m using for a video turned out looking crazy.
So why reinvent the wheel when I can just show you the short video that I watched? (And yes…it’s really as easy as it looks). Check it out below.
