Happy New Year, friends! What is it about a brand new year that makes you want to declutter and get yourself organized?? I’ve given myself alot of organizational goals this month, and the first thing I wanted to tackle was our pantry! Y’all…it was bad.
I polled you guys on Instagram, and you guys are sooooo on the same page as me. Almost all of you that voted wanted to see the whole “pantry organization process”, and I posted the whole thing to my stories a few weeks ago! I love my fellow organizational nerds!
Just a reminder, if you don’t follow me on Instagram, it’s where alot of my content goes live first! Including the free pantry labels pictured below that was first available to my followers over 2 weeks ago! I’m also present daily on the ‘gram (usually in stories), so I’d love to have you follow along!
Ok….let’s get to these before and after pictures!
Dollar Store Pantry Organization: Before
You guys. I’m not proud. Especially since we’ve lived in this house less than a year and I’ve already psuedo organized this pantry a few months ago. I’m sure you understand the cycle: things get misplaced here and there, so you start just tossing random things in random places, and before you know it the canned tomatoes are sitting behind the cereal boxes. Y’all…just a mess.
Dollar Store Pantry Organization: After
Since my first organizational attempt a few months ago didn’t stick, I wanted to do a sort of basket system this time. I felt like things would stay more organized if I could contain them in certain categories.
I’m a frugal gal, so I chose to make this a dollar store pantry organization project! Keep scrolling for my non-dollar store pantry organization picks!
- Family Dollar: The tan baskets with the floral pattern all came from Family Dollar…each for $1. Now Family Dollar did have other baskets as well, but not everything is $1 there, so be careful. The containers that I used for the crackers and oatmeal were $2 each and also came from Family Dollar.
- Dollar Tree: My favorite dollar store everrrrrr, because everything is literally one dollaaaaaa. The other tan baskets, including the round ones, as well as the shelf organizers I used for canned goods all came from DT. They had a large selection (all for $1) and several different colors (although I was being OCD and wanted them to be matchy-matchy).
- Amazon: Ok, not a dollar store…..BUT still my favorite place to shop, and it’s where I got the door organizer for all of our baggies, foil, and stuff like that. I went so back and forth on what kind of door organizer to get. There were so many “nicer” looking ones like this adjustable pantry organizer rack or this organizer with amazing reviews, but at the end of the day I felt like this would be the most functional for what I needed it for.

Free Printable Pantry Labels
I created these free Rae Dunn-inspired pantry labels to attach to the baskets so we could easily see where everything was when we looked in the pantry.
Obviously not everyone is going to have the same “categories” as I do, so I created over 50 different pantry label categories to give you guys some variety that will hopefully fit with how you like to keep your pantry organized! You can use these for your own dollar store pantry organization or to label a system you already have going for you! Just click below to download for free!
To attach them to the baskets, I used some contact paper to kind of “laminate” the labels, and then I just hot glued them to the baskets. They’ve held up well so far! You could also use ring clips to place the labels on the baskets.
